2025 Whiteout Mania Contest
Official Rules & Regulations
By entering the 2025 Whiteout Mania Contest (the “Contest”), entrants agree to abide by these Official Contest Rules and Regulations (the “Contest Rules”) and the decisions of True North Sports & Entertainment Limited and the Winnipeg Jets Hockey Club (“True North”) which are final and binding in all respects relating to the Contest. Eligible Entrants (as defined herein) agree to abide by these Official Contest Rules and Regulations (the “Contest Rules”) and the decisions of True North which are final and binding in all respects relating to the Contest.
1. CONTEST PERIOD
The Contest period begins at 12:01 a.m. (CST) on March 28, 2025 and closes upon the conclusion of the Winnipeg Jets post-season (the “Contest Period”).
2. HOW TO ENTER
No purchase required. Eligible Entrants (as defined herein) will be entered into the Contest upon uploading Winnipeg Jets Whiteout-themed user generated photo or video content to WinnipegJets.com/WhiteoutMania. Each entry will provide a chance to be featured on Winnipeg Jets social channels as well as one entry to win two (2) tickets to a Winnipeg Jets 2025 home playoff game (the “Prize”). The Prize Draws (each a “Draw”) will occur one day before each scheduled home playoff game (dates to be determined). Entries will be cumulative: Eligible Entrants will be entered into all remaining Draws following the date of their entry. Earlier entries will therefore have more chances to win. There is no set limit to the amount of entries per Eligible Entrant, however each Eligible Entrant may only win a Prize once. True North does not assume any responsibility for any computer errors or malfunctions, or for any other problems occurring in connection with participation in the Contest.
Odds of winning will depend on the number of Eligible Entrants the time of each Draw.
3. ELIGIBILITY
The Contest is open only to individuals who, at the time of a Draw (as described below): (i) are a legal resident of Canada, excluding Quebec, and (ii) are eighteen (18) years of age or older at the time of entry (each an “Eligible Entrant”).
True North has the right to require proof of eligibility from any individual who enters the Contest. Failure to provide such proof may result in disqualification from the Contest. The employees, agents, or representatives of True North or of any entity involved in sponsorship, development, production, implementation and distribution of any Contest, including their respective agents, affiliates, subsidiaries, related companies, sponsors, advertising or promotional agencies, or assignees, and their immediate family members, are prohibited from participating in the Contest and do not qualify. For the purposes of the Contest Rules, “immediate family” means husband, wife, spouse, mother, father, brother, sister, son and/or daughter, whether or not they reside in the same household.
4. Prize Draws
The Prize Draws will occur one day before each scheduled home playoff game (dates to be determined).
Each Draw will provide a chance to win:
· Two (2) tickets to a Winnipeg Jets 2025 home playoff game. Approximate Value: CAD $614.00.
True North, in its sole discretion, reserves the right to substitute any Prize in whole or in part in the event that all or any of the components of a Prize are unavailable.
Any difference between the approximate retail value referred to herein and the actual value of a Prize will not be awarded.
5. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY AND CONTENT OWNERSHIP
All content submitted as part of the Contest including but not limited to photos, videos, or other materials (collectively, the “Contest Content”), must not violate any copyright, trademark, trade secret, patent, or other personal, intellectual property, or proprietary rights (collectively, “Intellectual Property Rights”) of any person or entity. Contest Content must be provided or made available with the necessary permissions from the owner(s) of such rights.
Entrants acknowledge that True North shall be indemnified and held harmless from and against any third-party claims, liabilities, damages, losses, or expenses, including reasonable legal fees, arising in connection with any breach or alleged breach of this provision, to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, all Contest Content and the Intellectual Property Rights therein shall become the property of True North upon submission. True North shall have the unrestricted right to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, broadcast, distribute, and display the Contest Content in any media or format, for any purpose, without further consent from, or compensation to, the entrant.
All moral rights in and to the Contest Content are deemed waived to the extent permitted by applicable law. Entrants are required to cooperate with True North and take any actions, including signing any supporting documentation, that True North may reasonably request to secure its ownership of the Contest Content and to otherwise exercise its rights in and to the Contest Content. Entrants represent and warrant that they have and will retain all rights necessary to effect the assignment of the Contest Content and to enable True North to exercise its rights therein without infringement of any third party’s Intellectual Property Rights.
6. SELECTION OF WINNERS
User generated content submitted by Eligible Entrants will be selected based on criteria such as story and/or content. Submitted content will be used on social media channels at the sole discretion of True North and there is no guarantee that submitted content will be selected.
Winners of the Prize will be selected by a random draw of Eligible Entrants (“Contest Prize Winner”), which will occur one day before each scheduled home playoff game (dates to be determined). True North will attempt to contact the potential winner via email at the email address provided by the Eligible Entrant (the “Notification E-mail”). True North is not responsible for a selected Contest Prize Winner’s failure to receive notification for any reason whatsoever. No contact or correspondence will be entered into except with potential winners of the Contest.
The Eligible Entrant selected as the potential winner of a Prize shall have twelve (12) hours to: (i) communicate their acceptance of a Prize; (ii) correctly answer, unaided, a time limited, mathematical skill-testing question; and (iii) execute and return to True North the Acknowledgement of Contest Rules form.
In the event that the potential winner does not comply with any of the above requirements within twelve (12) hours of having been sent the Notification E-mail, True North has the right to treat the Prize as having been forfeited and True North may select an alternate potential winner of the Prize in its sole discretion.
7. GENERAL RULES
All decisions of True North relating to the Contest, including (but not limited to) the eligibility of entrants, the selection of the winners of the Prizes and the availability of the Prizes, shall be final and shall be made in the sole discretion of True North.
True North will not be responsible for any incomplete, illegible, destroyed, late or lost entries. All such entries, including entries that have been tampered with or altered, are void. True North does not assume any responsibility for incorrect or inaccurate capture of entry information, technical defects or malfunctions of hardware or software, human or technical error, printing errors, lost, delayed or garbled data or transmissions or electronic communications which are undeliverable due to filtering programs or lack of space in the recipient’s account. True North shall not be responsible for any technical problems, including any injury or damage to an entrant’s or any other person’s computer or property related to or resulting from playing or downloading any material in relation to the Contest.
In the event that an Eligible Entrant is selected as a winner of a Prize, the Eligible Entrant authorizes True North to photograph, videotape, film or sound record the Eligible Entrant. The Eligible Entrant permits True North to use his/her name and such photographs, videotapes, films or sound records for any and all promotional purposes (including publication in the monthly Season Seat Holder newsletter and/or broadcast in media) without further compensation or permission.
Personal information collected in connection with the Contest will be used by True North in accordance with the Winnipeg Jets privacy policy available at www.winnipegjets.com.
All intellectual property related to this Contest, including but not limited to logos, design marks, trademarks, copyright, service marks, trade names, related words, phrases, slogans, caricatures, graphics and images are owned by True North or affiliates thereof. All rights are reserved. Unauthorized copying or use of any intellectual property without the express written consent of its owner is strictly prohibited.
In the event that any discrepancy or inconsistency arises between the Contest Rules and statements and/or representations made in relation to the Contest or contained in any Contest-related materials, the Contest Rules shall prevail.
In the event that any provision of the Contest Rules is not strictly enforced by True North, it shall not constitute a waiver of that provision or any other provision contained herein.
The following are prohibited and will result in automatic disqualification from the Contest: (i) non-compliance with the Contest Rules; or (ii) any other act determined by True North, in its sole discretion, to jeopardize, or potentially jeopardize, the integrity of the Contest.
True North reserves the right to change the Contest Rules and/or terminate, modify, suspend or withdraw the Contest (and/or any aspect thereof), in whole or in part, at any time without notice for any reason, without liability, in their sole discretion. True North shall not be liable for any typos or errors contained within the Contest Rules and reserve the right to amend the Contest Rules at any time without notice in their sole discretion.
The Contest is subject to all applicable federal, provincial and municipal laws and regulations and shall be governed by the laws of the Province of Manitoba and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein.
8. RELEASE OF LIABILITY
Upon entering the Contest, the Eligible Entrant, their heirs, executors, legal personal representatives, successors and assigns (all such persons hereinafter collectively called the “Releasors”), agree, among other things, to hereby irrevocably and unconditionally release and forever discharge Winnipeg Jets Hockey Club Limited Partnership, Winnipeg Jets Hockey Club Inc., The True North Entertainment Complex Limited Partnership, True North Sports & Entertainment Limited, TN Arena Limited Partnership, TN Arena Inc., sponsors and advertisers, and each of their respective parents, affiliates and subsidiaries, and all of their respective shareholders, directors, officers, unitholders, employees, agents, heirs, executors, legal personal representatives, successors and assigns, as the case may be, (all such persons and entities hereinafter collectively called the “Releasees”) of and from all injuries, liabilities, damages, actions, suits, obligations, duties, acts, omissions, misfeasance, malfeasance, losses, expenses, costs, rights of indemnity and all other claims and rights whatsoever (including, without limitation, reasonable lawyers’ fees and legal costs), whether or not known or anticipated and whether or not due to the negligence of the Releasees, which the Releasors ever had, now have or may in the future have against the Releasees for or by reason of the Releasors’ entry into the Contest, participation in the Contest and/or acceptance of a Prize.
